Verse 10

Then there came a famine in the land: therefore Abram went downe into Egypt to soiourne there: for there was a great famine in the lande.

1 Kgs 17:1-9 : 1 And Eliiah the Tishbite one of the inhabitats of Gilead sayde vnto Ahab, As the Lorde God of Israel liueth, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dewe nor rayne these yeeres, but according to my worde. 2 And the worde of the Lorde came vnto him, saying, 3 Go hence, and turne thee Eastwarde, and hide thy selfe in the riuer Cherith, that is ouer against Iorden, 4 And thou shalt drinke of the riuer: and I haue comanded the rauens to feede thee there. 5 So he went & did according vnto the word of the Lord: for he went, and remained by the riuer Cherith that is ouer against Iorden. 6 And the rauens brought him bread & flesh in the morning, and bread & flesh in the euening, and he dranke of the riuer. 7 And after a while the riuer dryed vp, because there fell no rayne vpon the earth. 8 And the worde of the Lord came vnto him, saying, 9 Vp, & get thee to Zarephath, which is in Zidon, and remaine there: beholde, I haue commanded a widow there to sustaine thee. 10 So he arose, & went to Zarephath: & when he came to the gate of the citie, beholde, the widowe was there gathering stickes: and he called her, and sayde, Bring me, I pray thee, a litle water in a vessel, that I may drinke. 11 And as she was going to fet it, he called to her, and sayde, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsell of bread in thine hand. 12 And shee sayde, As the Lorde thy God liueth, I haue not a cake, but euen an handfull of meale in a barrel, and a litle oyle in a cruse: and behold, I am gathering a fewe stickes for to go in, and dresse it for me and my sonne, that we may eate it, and dye. 13 And Eliiah said vnto her, Feare not, come, do as thou hast sayd, but make me thereof a litle cake first of all, and bring it vnto mee, and afterward make for thee, and thy sonne. 14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The meale in the barrel shall not be wasted, neither shal the oyle in the cruse be diminished, vnto the time that the Lord send rayne vpon the earth. 15 So she went, and did as Eliiah sayd, and she did eate: so did he and her house for a certaine time. 16 The barrell of the meale wasted not, nor the oyle was spent out of the cruse, according to the worde of the Lorde, which he spake by the hand of Eliiah. 17 And after these things, the sonne of the wife of the house fell sicke, and his sicknesse was so sore, that there was no breath left in him. 18 And she said vnto Eliiah, What haue I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come vnto me to call my sinne to remembrance, and to slay my sonne?
2 Kgs 4:38 : 38 Afterward Elisha returned to Gilgal, and a famine was in the land, and the children of the Prophets dwelt with him; hee sayd vnto his seruant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the children of the Prophets.
2 Kgs 6:25 : 25 So there was a great famine in Samaria: for loe, they besieged it vntill an asses head was at foure score pieces of siluer, and the fourth part of a kab of doues doung at fiue pieces of siluer.
2 Kgs 7:1-8 : 1 Then Elisha saide, Heare ye the worde of the Lorde: thus saith the Lorde, To morowe this time a measure of fine floure shalbe solde for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel in the gate of Samaria. 2 Then a prince, on whose hande the King leaned, answered the man of God, and saide, Though the Lorde would make windowes in the heauen, could this thing come to passe? And he said, Beholde, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not eate thereof. 3 Nowe there were foure leprous men at the entring in of the gate: and they saide one to an other, Why sitte we here vntill we die? 4 If we say, We will enter into the citie, the famine is in the citie, and we shall die there: and if we sit here, we dye also. Nowe therefore come, and let vs fall into the campe of the Aramites: if they saue our liues, we shall liue: and if they kill vs, we are but dead. 5 So they rose vp in the twilight, to goe to the campe of the Aramites: and when they were come to the vtmost part of the campe of the Aramites, loe, there was no man there. 6 For the Lord had caused the campe of the Aramites to heare a noyse of charets & a noise of horses, and a noise of a great armie, so that they sayde one to another, Beholde, the King of Israel hath hired against vs the Kings of the Hittites, and the Kings of the Egyptians to come vpon vs. 7 Wherefore they arose, and fled in the twilight, and left their tentes and their horses, and their asses, euen the campe as it was, and fledde for their liues. 8 And when these lepers came to the vtmost part of the campe, they entred into one tent, and did eate and drinke, and caryed thence siluer and golde, and raiment, and went and hid it: after they returned, and entred into another tent, and caryed thence also, and went and hid it.
2 Kgs 8:1-2 : 1 Then spake Elisha vnto the woman, whose sonne he had restored to life, saying, Vp, and goe, thou, and thine house, and soiourne where thou canst soiourne: for the Lorde hath called for a famine, and it commeth also vpon the land seuen yeeres. 2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God, and went both shee and her housholde and soiourned in the lande of the Philistims seuen yeeres.
