Verse 2

For the indignation of the Lord is vpon all nations, and his wrath vpon all their armies: hee hath destroyed them and deliuered them to the slaughter.

Wherefore the inhabitants of the land are burned vp, and fewe men are left. 7 The wine faileth, the vine hath no might: all that were of merie heart, doe mourne. 8 The mirth of tabrets ceaseth: the noyse of them that reioyce, endeth: the ioye of the harpe ceaseth. 9 They shall not drinke wine with mirth: strong drinke shall be bitter to them that drinke it. 10 The citie of vanitie is broken downe: euery house is shut vp, that no man may come in. 11 There is a crying for wine in the streetes: al ioy is darkened: the mirth of the world is gone away. 12 In the citie is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction. 13 Surely thus shall it bee in the middes of the earth, among the people, as the shaking of an oliue tree, and as the grapes when the vintage is ended. 14 They shall lift vp their voyce: they shall shout for the magnificence of the Lord: they shall reioyce from the sea. 15 Wherefore praise yee the Lord in the valleis, euen the Name of the Lorde God of Israel, in the yles of the sea. 16 From the vttermost part of the earth wee haue heard praises, euen glory to the iust, and I sayd, My leanesse, my leanesse, woe is mee: the transgressours haue offended: yea, the transgressours haue grieuously offended. 17 Feare, and the pitte, and the snare are vpon thee, O inhabitant of the earth. 18 And hee that fleeth from the noyse of the feare, shall fall into the pit: and he that commeth vp out of the pit, shal be taken in the snare: for the windowes from on high are open, & the foundations of the earth doe shake. 19 The earth is vtterly broken downe: the earth is cleane dissolued: the earth is mooued exceedingly. 20 The earth shal reele to and fro like a drunken man, and shall be remooued like a tent, and the iniquitie thereof shall be heauie vpon it: so that it shall fall, and rise no more. 21 And in that day shall the Lorde visite the hoste aboue that is on hie, euen the Kinges of the world that are vpon the earth. 22 And they shall be gathered together, as the prisoners in the pit: and they shal be shut vp in the prison, and after many daies shal they be visited. 23 Then the moone shal be abashed, and the sunne ashamed, when the Lorde of hostes shall reigne in mount Zion and in Ierusalem: and glory shalbe before his ancient men.
Isa 30:25 : 25 And vpon euery hie mountaine, and vpon euery hie hill shal there be riuers and streames of waters, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers shall fall.
Isa 30:27-30 : 27 Beholde, the Name of the Lorde commeth from farre, his face is burning, & the burden thereof is heauy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue is as a deuouring fire. 28 And his spirit is as a riuer that ouerfloweth vp to the necke: it deuideth asunder, to fanne the nations with the fanne of vanitie, and there shall be a bridle to cause them to erre in the chawes of the people. 29 But there shall be a song vnto you as in the night, when solemne feast is kept: and gladnes of heart, as he that commeth with a pipe to goe vnto the mount of the Lord, to the mightie one of Israel. 30 And the Lorde shall cause his glorious voyce to be heard, and shall declare the lighting downe of his arme with the anger of his countenance, and flame of a deuouring fire, with scattering and tempest, and hailestones.
Jer 25:15-29 : 15 For thus hath the Lorde God of Israel spoken vnto me, Take the cuppe of wine of this mine indignation at mine hand, and cause all the nations, to whome I sende thee, to drinke it. 16 And they shall drinke, and be moued and be mad, because of the sworde that I will sende among them. 17 Then tooke I the cup at the Lordes hand, and made all people to drinke, vnto whome the Lorde had sent me: 18 Euen Ierusalem, and the cities of Iudah, and the Kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them desolate, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse, as appeareth this day: 19 Pharaoh also, King of Egypt, and his seruants, and his princes, and all his people: 20 And all sortes of people, and all the Kings of the lande of Vz: and all the Kings of the lande of the Philistims, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod: 21 Edom, and Moab, and the Ammonites, 22 And all the Kings of Tyrus, & all the kings of Zidon, and the Kings of the Yles, that are beyonde the Sea, 23 And Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that dwell in the vttermost corners, 24 And all the Kings of Arabia, and all the Kings of Arabia, that dwell in the desert, 25 And all the Kings of Zimri, and all the Kings of Elam, and all the Kings of the Medes, 26 And all the Kings of the North, farre and neere one to another, and all the kingdomes of the worlde, which are vpon the earth, & the king of Sheshach shall drinke after them. 27 Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Drinke and bee drunken, and spewe and fall, and rise no more, because of the sworde, which I will sende among you. 28 But if they refuse to take the cuppe at thine hande to drinke, then tell them, Thus saith the Lorde of hostes, Ye shall certainely drinke. 29 For loe, I beginne to plague the citie, where my Name is called vpon, and shoulde you goe free? Ye shall not goe quite: for I will call for a sword vpon al the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lorde of hostes.
Joel 3:9-9 : 9 Publish this among the Gentiles: prepare warre, wake vp the mightie men: let all the men of warre drawe neere and come vp. 10 Breake your plowshares into swords, and your sithes into speares: let the weake say, I am strong. 11 Assemble your selues, and come all yee heathen and gather your selues together round about: there shall the Lord cast downe the mightie men. 12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come vp to the valley of Iehoshaphat: for there will I sit to iudge all the heathen round about. 13 Put in your sithes, for the haruest is ripe: come, get you downe, for the winepresse is full: yea, the winepresses runne ouer, for their wickednesse is great. 14 O multitude, O multitude, come into the valley of threshing: for the day of the Lorde is neere in the valley of threshing.
Amos 1:1-2 : 1 The wordes of Amos, who was among the heardmen at Tecoa, which he sawe vpon Israel, in the dayes of Vzziah king of Iudah, and in the dayes of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash King of Israel, two yeere before the earthquake. 2 And he saide, The Lord shall roare from Zion, and vtter his voyce from Ierusalem, and the dwelling places of the shepheards shal perish, and the top of Carmel shall wither,
Nah 1:2-6 : 2 God is ielous, & the Lord reuengeth: the Lord reuengeth: euen the Lorde of anger, the Lorde will take vengeance on his aduersaries, & he reserueth wrath for his enemies. 3 The Lord is slow to anger, but he is great in power, and will not surely cleare the wicked: the Lord hath his way in ye whirlewind, & in the storme, and the cloudes are the dust of his feete. 4 He rebuketh the sea, and dryeth it, and he dryeth vp all the riuers: Bashan is wasted and Carmel, and the floure of Lebanon is wasted. 5 The mountaines tremble for him, and the hilles melt, & the earth is burnt at his sight, yea, the worlde, and all that dwell therein. 6 Who can stande before his wrath? Or who can abide in the fiercenesse of his wrath? His wrath is powred out like fire, and the rockes are broken by him.
Zeph 3:8 : 8 Therefore wait ye vpon me, saith the Lord, vntill the day that I rise vp to the praye: for I am determined to gather the nations, and that I will assemble the kingdomes to powre vpon them mine indignation, euen all my fierce wrath: for all the earth shall be deuoured with the fire of my ielousie.
Zech 14:3 : 3 Then shall the Lord goe foorth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battell.
Zech 14:12-16 : 12 And this shall bee the plague, wherewith the Lorde will smite all people, that haue fought against Ierusalem: their flesh shall consume away, though they stand vpon their feete, and their eyes shall consume in their holes, and their tongue shall consume in their mouth. 13 But in that day a great tumult of the Lorde shall be among them, and euery one shall take the hande of his neighbour, and his hande shall rise vp against the hand of his neighbour. 14 And Iudah shall fight also against Ierusalem, and the arme of all the heathen shall be gathered rounde about, with golde and siluer, and great abundance of apparell. 15 Yet this shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camell and of the asse and of all the beasts that be in these tents as this plague. 16 But it shall come to passe that euery one that is left of all the nations, which came against Ierusalem, shall goe vp from yere to yere to worship the King the Lord of hostes, and to keepe the feast of Tabernacles.
Rom 1:18 : 18 For the wrath of God is reueiled from heauen against all vngodlinesse, and vnrighteousnesse of men, which withhold the trueth in vnrighteousnesse.
Rev 6:12-17 : 12 And I behelde when hee had opened the sixt seale, and loe, there was a great earthquake, and the sunne was as blacke as sackecloth of heare, & the moone was like blood. 13 And the starres of heauen fell vnto the earth, as a figge tree casteth her greene figges when it is shaken of a mightie winde. 14 And heauen departed away, as a scroule, when it is rolled, and euery mountaine and yle were mooued out of their places. 15 And the Kinges of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chiefe captaines, and the mighty men, and euery bondman, and euery free man, hid themselues in dennes, & among the rockes of the mountaines, 16 And said to the mountaines & rocks, Fal on vs, and hide vs from the presence of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lambe. 17 For the great day of his wrath is come, and who can stand?
Rev 14:15-20 : 15 And another Angel came out of the Temple, crying with a loude voyce to him that sate on the cloude, Thrust in thy sickle & reape: for the time is come to reape: for the haruest of the earth is ripe. 16 And he that sate on the cloude, thrust in his sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped. 17 Then an other Angel came out of the Temple, which is in heauen, hauing also a sharpe sickle. 18 And another Angel came out from the altar, which had power ouer fire, and cryed with a loude crie to him that had the sharpe sickle, & sayd, Thrust in thy sharpe sickle, and gather the clusters of the vineyard of the earth: for her grapes are ripe. 19 And the Angel thrust in his sharpe sickle on the earth, and cut downe the vines of the vineyard of the earth, and cast them into that great wine presse of the wrath of God. 20 And the wine presse was troden without the citie, and blood came out of the wine presse, vnto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and sixe hundreth furlongs.
Rev 19:15-21 : 15 And out of his mouth went out a sharpe sworde, that with it he should smite the heathen: for he shall rule them with a rod of yron: for he it is that treadeth the wine presse of the fiercenesse and wrath of almightie God. 16 And he hath vpon his garment, and vpon his thigh a name written, The King of Kings, and Lord of Lordes. 17 And I sawe an Angel stand in the sunne, who cryed with a loude voyce, saying to all the foules that did flie by the middes of heauen, Come, and gather your selues together vnto the supper of ye great God, 18 That ye may eate the flesh of Kings, and the flesh of hie Captaines, and the flesh of mightie men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all freemen, and bondmen, and of small and great. 19 And I sawe the beast, and the Kings of the earth, and their hostes gathered together to make battell against him that sate on the horse, and against his armie. 20 But ye beast was taken, & with him that false prophet that wrought miracles before him, whereby he deceiued them that receiued ye beastes marke, and them that worshipped his image. These both were aliue cast into a lake of fire, burning with brimstone. 21 And the remnant were slayne with the sword of him that sitteth vpon the horse, which commeth out of his mouth, and all the foules were filled full with their flesh.
Rev 20:9 : 9 And they went vp into the plaine of the earth, and they compassed the tents of the Saints about, & the beloued citie: but fire came downe from God out of heauen, and deuoured them.
Rev 20:15 : 15 And whosoeuer was not found written in the booke of life, was cast into the lake of fire.
