This is the worde that came vnto Ieremiah from the Lorde, after that the King Zedekiah had made a couenant with all the people, which were at Ierusalem, to proclaime libertie vnto them,

Neh 5:1-9 : 1 Nowe there was a great crie of the people, and of their wiues against their brethren the Iewes. 2 For there were that said, We, our sonnes & our daughters are many, therefore we take vp corne, that we may eate and liue. 3 And there were that saide, We must gage our landes, and our vineyardes, and our houses, and take vp corne for the famine. 4 There were also that said, We haue borowed money for the Kings tribute vpon our landes and our vineyardes. 5 And nowe our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, and our sonnes as their sonnes: and lo, we bring into subiection our sonnes and our daughters, as seruants, and there be of our daughters nowe in subiection, and there is no power in our handes: for other men haue our landes and our vineyardes. 6 Then was I very angrie when I heard their crie and these wordes. 7 And I thought in my minde, and I rebuked the princes, and the rulers, and saide vnto them, You lay burthens euery one vpon his brethren: and I set a great assemblie against them, 8 And I said vnto them, We (according to our abilitie) haue redeemed our brethren the Iewes, which were solde vnto the heathen: and will you sell your brethren againe, or shall they be solde vnto vs? Then helde they their peace, and could not answere. 9 I said also, That which ye do, is not good. Ought ye not to walke in the feare of our God, for the reproche of the heathen our enemies? 10 For euen I, my brethren, and my seruants doe lende them money and corne: I pray you, let vs leaue off this burden. 11 Restore, I pray you, vnto them this day their landes, their vineyardes, their oliues, & their houses, and remit the hundreth part of the siluer and of the corne, of the wine, and of the oyle that ye exact of them. 12 Then said they, We will restore it, and will not require it of them: we will doe as thou hast said. Then I called the Priestes, and caused them to sweare, that they shoulde doe according to this promes. 13 So I shooke my lappe, and said, So let God shake out euery man that wil not perfourme this promise from his house, & from his labour: euen thus let him be shaken out, & emptied; all the Cogregation said, Amen, & praised the Lord: and the people did according to this promes.
Isa 61:1 : 1 The Spirit of the Lorde God is vpon mee, therefore hath the Lorde anoynted mee: hee hath sent mee to preache good tidings vnto the poore, to binde vp the broken hearted, to preach libertie to the captiues, and to them that are bound, the opening of the prison,
2 Kgs 23:2-3 : 2 And the King went vp into the house of the Lord, with all the men of Iudah and all the inhabitants of Ierusalem with him, and the Priests & Prophets, and all the people both smal and great: and he reade in their eares all the wordes of the booke of the couenant, which was found in the house of the Lord. 3 And the King stood by the pillar, & made a couenant before the Lorde, that they shoulde walke after the Lord, and keepe his commandements, and his testimonies, and his statutes with all their heart, and with all their soule, that they might accomplish the wordes of this couenant written in this booke; all the people stood to the couenant.
Lev 25:39-46 : 39 If thy brother also that dwelleth by thee, be impouerished, and be sold vnto thee, thou shalt not compel him to serue as a bond seruant, 40 But as an hired seruant, and as a soiourner he shalbe with thee: he shall serue thee vnto the yeere of the Iubile. 41 Then shall he depart from thee, both hee, and his children with him, and shall returne vnto his familie, and vnto the possession of his fathers shall he returne: 42 For they are my seruants, whom I brought out of the lande of Egypt: they shall not be solde as bondmen are solde. 43 Thou shalt not rule ouer him cruelly, but shalt feare thy God. 44 Thy bond seruant also, & thy bond maid, which thou shalt haue, shalbe of the heathen that are rounde about you: of them shall ye bye seruants and maydes. 45 And moreouer of the children of the stragers, that are soiourners among you, of them shall ye bye, and of their families that are with you, which they begate in your lande: these shall be your possession. 46 So ye shall take them as inheritance for your children after you, to possesse them by inheritance, ye shall vse their labours for euer: but ouer your brethren the children of Israel ye shall not rule one ouer another with crueltie.
Deut 15:12 : 12 If thy brother an Ebrewe sell himselfe to thee, or an Ebrewesse, and serue thee sixe yeere, euen in the seuenth yeere thou shalt let him goe free from thee:
Exod 21:2-4 : 2 If thou bye an Ebrewe seruant, he shall serue sixe yeres, and in the seuenth he shal go out free, for nothing. 3 If he came himselfe alone, he shall goe out himselfe alone: if hee were married, then his wife shall go out with him. 4 If his master haue giuen him a wife, and she hath borne him sonnes or daughters, he wife and her children shalbe her masters, but he shall goe out himselfe alone.
Exod 23:10-11 : 10 Moreouer, sixe yeres thou shalt sowe thy land, and gather the fruites thereof, 11 But the seuenth yeere thou shalt let it rest and lie still, that the poore of thy people may eat, and what they leaue, the beastes of the fielde shal eate. In like maner thou shalt doe with thy vineyard, and with thine oliue trees.
2 Chr 15:12-15 : 12 And they made a couenant to seeke the Lorde God of their fathers, with all their heart, and with all their soule. 13 And whosoeuer will not seeke the Lorde God of Israel, shalbe slaine, whether he were small or great, man or woman. 14 And they sware vnto the Lorde with a loude voyce, and with shouting and with trumpets, and with cornets. 15 And all Iudah reioyced at the othe: for they had sworne vnto the Lorde with all their heart, and sought him with a whole desire, and he was founde of them; the Lorde gaue them rest rounde about.

Jer 34:14-15 : 14 At the terme of seuen yeres let ye go, euery man his brother an Ebrewe which hath bene solde vnto thee: and when he hath serued the sixe yeres, thou shalt let him go free fro thee: but your fathers obeyed me not, neither inclined their eares. 15 And ye were nowe turned, and had done right in my sight in proclayming libertie, euery man to his neighbour, and ye had made a couenant before mee in the house, whereupon my Name is called.
Neh 9:38-10:27 : 38 Nowe because of all this we make a sure couenant, and write it, and our princes, our Leuites and our Priestes seale vnto it. 1 Nowe they that sealed were Nehemiah the Tirshatha the sonne of Hachaliah, and Zidkiiah, 2 Seraiah, Azariah, Ieremiah, 3 Pashur, Amariah, Malchiah, 4 Hattush, Shebaniah, Malluch, 5 Harim, Merimoth, Obadiah, 6 Daniel, Ginnethon, Baruch, 7 Meshullam, Abiiah, Miamin, 8 Maaziah, Bilgai, Shemaiah: these are the Priestes. 9 And the Leuites: Ieshua the sonne of Azaniah, Binnui, of the sonnes of Henadad, Kadmiel. 10 And their brethren Shebaniah, Hodiiah, Kelita, Pelaiah, Hanun, 11 Micha, Rehob, Hashabiah, 12 Zaccur, Sherebiah, Shebaniah, 13 Hodiah, Bani, Beninu. 14 The chiefe of the people were Parosh, Pahath Moab, Elam, Zattu, Bani, 15 Bunni, Azgad, Bebai, 16 Adoniah, Biguai, Adin, 17 Ater, Hizkiiah, Azzur, 18 Hodiah, Hashum, Bezai, 19 Hariph, Anathoth, Nebai, 20 Magpiash, Meshullam, Hezir, 21 Meshezabeel, Zadok, Iaddua, 22 Pelatiah, Hanan, Anaiah, 23 Hoshea, Hananiah, Hashub, 24 Hallohesh, Pileha, Shobek, 25 Rehum, Hashabnah, Maaseiah, 26 And Ahiiah, Hanan, Anan, 27 Malluch, Harim, Baanah.
