- Luke 7:37-39 : 37 And beholde, a woman in the citie, which was a sinner, when she knewe that Iesus sate at table in the Pharises house, shee brought a boxe of oyntment. 38 And shee stoode at his feete behinde him weeping, and began to wash his feete with teares, and did wipe them with the heares of her head, and kissed his feete, and anoynted them with the oyntment. 39 Nowe when the Pharise which bade him, saw it, he spake within himselfe, saying, If this man were a Prophet, hee woulde surely haue knowen who, and what maner of woman this is which toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
- John 12:1-8 : 1 Then Iesus, sixe dayes before the Passeouer, came to Bethania, where Lazarus was, who died, whom he had raised from the dead. 2 There they made him a supper, and Martha serued: but Lazarus was one of them that sate at the table with him. 3 Then tooke Mary a pound of oyntment of Spikenarde very costly, and anoynted Iesus feete, and wiped his feete with her heare, and the house was filled with the sauour of the oyntment. 4 Then said one of his disciples, euen Iudas Iscariot Simons sonne, which should betray him: 5 Why was not this oyntment sold for three hundreth pence, and giuen to the poore? 6 Nowe he said this, not that he cared for the poore, but because hee was a theefe, and had the bagge, and bare that which was giuen. 7 Then said Iesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying she kept it. 8 For the poore alwayes yee haue with you, but me ye shall not haue alwayes.
- John 11:1-2 : 1 And a certaine man was sicke, named Lazarus of Bethania, the towne of Marie, and her sister Martha. 2 (And it was that Mary which anointed the Lord with oyntment, and wiped his feete with her heare, whose brother Lazarus was sicke.)
