When righteous men reioyce, there is great glory: but when the wicked come vp, the man is tried.

1 Kgs 17:3-9 : 3 Go hence, and turne thee Eastwarde, and hide thy selfe in the riuer Cherith, that is ouer against Iorden, 4 And thou shalt drinke of the riuer: and I haue comanded the rauens to feede thee there. 5 So he went & did according vnto the word of the Lord: for he went, and remained by the riuer Cherith that is ouer against Iorden. 6 And the rauens brought him bread & flesh in the morning, and bread & flesh in the euening, and he dranke of the riuer. 7 And after a while the riuer dryed vp, because there fell no rayne vpon the earth. 8 And the worde of the Lord came vnto him, saying, 9 Vp, & get thee to Zarephath, which is in Zidon, and remaine there: beholde, I haue commanded a widow there to sustaine thee. 10 So he arose, & went to Zarephath: & when he came to the gate of the citie, beholde, the widowe was there gathering stickes: and he called her, and sayde, Bring me, I pray thee, a litle water in a vessel, that I may drinke. 11 And as she was going to fet it, he called to her, and sayde, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsell of bread in thine hand. 12 And shee sayde, As the Lorde thy God liueth, I haue not a cake, but euen an handfull of meale in a barrel, and a litle oyle in a cruse: and behold, I am gathering a fewe stickes for to go in, and dresse it for me and my sonne, that we may eate it, and dye. 13 And Eliiah said vnto her, Feare not, come, do as thou hast sayd, but make me thereof a litle cake first of all, and bring it vnto mee, and afterward make for thee, and thy sonne. 14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The meale in the barrel shall not be wasted, neither shal the oyle in the cruse be diminished, vnto the time that the Lord send rayne vpon the earth. 15 So she went, and did as Eliiah sayd, and she did eate: so did he and her house for a certaine time. 16 The barrell of the meale wasted not, nor the oyle was spent out of the cruse, according to the worde of the Lorde, which he spake by the hand of Eliiah. 17 And after these things, the sonne of the wife of the house fell sicke, and his sicknesse was so sore, that there was no breath left in him. 18 And she said vnto Eliiah, What haue I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come vnto me to call my sinne to remembrance, and to slay my sonne? 19 And he said vnto her, Giue me thy sonne; he tooke him out of her bosome, and caryed him vp into a chamber, where he abode, and laid him vpon his owne bed. 20 Then he called vnto the Lord, and sayde, O Lorde my God, hast thou punished also this widowe, with whome I soiourne, by killing her sonne? 21 And he stretched himselfe vpon the childe three times, and called vnto the Lord, and saide, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this childes soule come into him againe. 22 Then the Lord heard the voyce of Eliiah, and the soule of the child came into him againe, and he reuiued. 23 And Eliiah tooke the childe, and brought him downe out of the chamber into the house, and deliuered him vnto his mother, and Eliiah sayd, Behold, thy sonne liueth. 24 And the woman saide vnto Eliiah, Now I knowe that thou art a man of God, and that the worde of the Lord in thy mouth is true.
1 Kgs 18:13 : 13 Was it not tolde my lord, what I did when Iezebel slew the Prophets of the Lord, how I hid an hundreth men of the Lordes Prophets by fifties in a caue, and fed them with bread & water?
1 Kgs 19:3 : 3 When he sawe that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which is in Iudah, and left his seruant there.
1 Chr 15:25-28 : 25 So Dauid and the Elders of Israel and the captaines of thousandes went to bring vp the Arke of the couenant of the Lord from the house of Obed Edom with ioye. 26 And because that God helped the Leuites that bare the Arke of the couenant of the Lorde, they offered seuen bullockes and seuen rammes. 27 And Dauid had on him a linen garment, as all the Leuites that bare the Arke, and the singers and Chenaniah that had the chiefe charge of the singers: and vpon Dauid was a linnen Ephod. 28 Thus all Israel brought vp the Arke of the Lordes couenant with shouting and sounde of cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbales, making a sound with violes and with harpes.
1 Chr 16:7-9 : 7 Then at that time Dauid did appoint at the beginning to giue thankes to the Lorde by the hand of Asaph and his brethren. 8 Praise the Lorde and call vpon his Name: declare his workes among the people. 9 Sing vnto him, sing praise vnto him, and talke of all his wonderfull workes. 10 Reioyce in his holy Name: let the hearts of them that seeke the Lord reioyce. 11 Seeke the Lord and his strength: seeke his face continually. 12 Remember his marueilous workes that he hath done, his wonders, and the iudgementes of his mouth, 13 O seede of Israel his seruant, O the children of Iaakob his chosen. 14 He is the Lorde our God: his iudgements are throughout all the earth. 15 Remember his couenant for euer, and the worde, which hee commaunded to a thousand generations: 16 Which he made with Abraham, and his othe to Izhak: 17 And hath confirmed it to Iaakob for a Law, & to Israel for an euerlasting couenant, 18 Saying, To thee will I giue the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance. 19 When ye were fewe in number, yea, a very fewe, and strangers therein, 20 And walked about from nation to nation, and from one kingdome to another people, 21 He suffered no man to do them wrong, but rebuked Kings for their sakes, saying, 22 Touch not mine anoynted, and doe my Prophets no harme. 23 Sing vnto the Lord all the earth: declare his saluation from day to day. 24 Declare his glory among the nations, and his wonderful workes among all people. 25 For the Lorde is great & much to be praised, and hee is to bee feared aboue all gods. 26 For all the gods of the people are idoles, but the Lord made the heauens. 27 Prayse and glory are before him: power & beautie are in his place. 28 Giue vnto the Lord, ye families of the people: giue vnto the Lord glory and power. 29 Giue vnto the Lorde ye glory of his Name: bring an offring and come before him, and worship the Lorde in the glorious Sanctuarie. 30 Tremble ye before him, al the earth: surely the world shalbe stable and not moue. 31 Let the heauens reioyce, and let the earth be glad, and let them say among the nations, The Lorde reigneth. 32 Let the sea roare, and all that therein is: Let the field be ioyfull and all that is in it. 33 Let the trees of the wood then reioyce at the presence of the Lorde: for he commeth to iudge the earth. 34 Prayse the Lorde, for hee is good, for his mercie endureth for euer. 35 And say ye, Saue vs, O God, our saluation, and gather vs, and deliuer vs from the heathen, that we may prayse thine holy Name, and glorie in thy praise. 36 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for euer and euer: and let all people say, So be it, and praise the Lorde.
1 Chr 29:20-22 : 20 And Dauid said to all the Congregation, Now blesse the Lord your God; all the Congregation blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed downe their heads, and worshipped the Lord and the King. 21 And they offred sacrifices vnto the Lorde, and on the morowe after that day, they offered burnt offrings vnto the Lorde, euen a thousande yong bullocks, a thousand rammes and a thousand sheepe, with their drinke offrings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel. 22 And they did eate and drinke before the Lord the same day with great ioy, and they made Salomon the sonne of Dauid King the seconde time, and anoynted him prince before the Lord, and Zadok for the hie Priest.
2 Chr 7:10 : 10 And the three and twentieth day of the seuenth moneth, he sent the people away into their tentes, ioyous and with glad heart, because of the goodnesse that the Lorde had done for Dauid and for Salomon, & for Israel his people.
2 Chr 30:22-27 : 22 And Hezekiah spake comfortably vnto all the Leuites that had good knowledge to sing vnto the Lorde: and they did eate in that feast seuen dayes, and offred peace offrings, and praysed the Lord God of their fathers. 23 And the whole assembly tooke counsel to keepe it other seuen dayes. So they kept it seuen dayes with ioy. 24 For Hezekiah King of Iudah had giuen to the Congregation a thousande bullockes, and seuen thousand sheepe; the princes had giuen to the Congregation a thousand bullocks, and ten thousand sheepe: and many Priests were sanctified. 25 And all the Congregation of Iudah reioyced with the Priestes and the Leuites, and all the Congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Iudah. 26 So there was great ioye in Ierusalem: for since the time of Salomon the sonne of Dauid King of Israel there was not the like thing in Ierusalem. 27 Then the Priests and the Leuites arose, and blessed the people, and their voyce was heard, and their prayer came vp vnto heauen, to his holy habitation.
Esth 8:15-17 : 15 And Mordecai went out from the King in royall apparell of blewe, and white, and with a great crowne of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple, and the citie of Shushan reioyced and was glad. 16 And vnto the Iewes was come light and ioy and gladnes, and honour. 17 Also in all and euery prouince, and in al & euery citie & place, where the Kings commandement and his decree came, there was ioy and gladnes to the Iewes, a feast and good day, and many of the people of the land became Iewes: for the feare of the Iewes fell vpon them.
Job 29:11-20 : 11 And when the eare heard me, it blessed me: and when the eye sawe me, it gaue witnesse to me. 12 For I deliuered the poore that cryed, and the fatherlesse, and him that had none to helpe him. 13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish, came vpon me, and I caused the widowes heart to reioyce. 14 I put on iustice, and it couered me: my iudgement was as a robe, and a crowne. 15 I was the eyes to the blinde, and I was the feete to the lame. 16 I was a father vnto the poore, and when I knewe not the cause, I sought it out diligently. 17 I brake also the chawes of the vnrighteous man, and pluckt the praye out of his teeth. 18 Then I sayde, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiplie my dayes as the sand. 19 For my roote is spread out by the water, and the dewe shall lye vpon my branche. 20 My glory shall renue towarde me, and my bowe shall be restored in mine hand.
