Verse 12

And they put him in ward, that the mind of the LORD might be shewed them.

Exod 18:15-16 : 15 And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God: 16 When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.
Num 15:34 : 34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
Num 27:5 : 5 And Moses brought their cause before the LORD.
Num 36:5-6 : 5 And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well. 6 This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.
Exod 18:23 : 23 If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace.
