Verse 17

For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which [will] not [be] charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the LORD.

Deut 32:24 : 24 [They shall be] burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.
Ps 58:4-5 : 4 Their poison [is] like the poison of a serpent: [they are] like the deaf adder [that] stoppeth her ear; 5 Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.
Eccl 10:11 : 11 Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better.
