And Jesus answering said unto him, ‹It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.›

Deut 6:16 : 16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted [him] in Massah.
Ps 95:9 : 9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
Ps 106:14 : 14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
Mal 3:15 : 15 And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, [they that] tempt God are even delivered.
