Så sier Herren: For tre overtredelser av Damaskus, ja, for fire, vil jeg ikke vende bort straffen, fordi de har tresket Gilead med treskeredskaper av jern.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Dascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:

Men jeg vil sende en ild mot Hasaels hus, og den vil fortære palassene til Ben-Hadad.

But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.

Jeg vil også bryte ned stengene fra Damaskus, og utrydde innbyggerne i dalen til Aven, og han som holder septeret fra Bet-Eden. Folket i Syria skal gå i fangenskap til Kir, sier Herren.

I will break also the bar of Dascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.

Så sier Herren: For tre overtredelser av Gaza, ja, for fire, vil jeg ikke vende bort straffen, fordi de førte et helt folk i fangenskap for å overgi dem til Edom.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:

But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:

Og jeg vil utrydde innbyggerne i Asjdod, og han som holder septeret i Asjkalon, og jeg vil vende hånden mot Ekron, og de få som er igjen av filisterne skal gå til grunne, sier Herren Gud.

And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.

Så sier Herren: For tre overtredelser av Tyrus, ja, for fire, vil jeg ikke vende bort straffen, fordi de overgav et helt folk til Edom og ikke husket brødrepakten.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:

Men jeg vil sende en ild mot muren i Tyrus, og den vil fortære palassene der.

But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.

Så sier Herren: For tre overtredelser av Edom, ja, for fire, vil jeg ikke vende bort straffen, fordi han forfulgte sin bror med sverdet og kastet bort all medfølelse, og hans vrede rev i evig tid, og han beholdt sin vrede for evig.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:

Men jeg vil sende en ild mot Teman, og den vil fortære palassene i Bosra.

But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

Så sier Herren: For tre overtredelser av ammonittene, ja, for fire, vil jeg ikke vende bort straffen, fordi de rev opp gravide kvinner i Gilead for å utvide sitt territorium.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of mon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:

Men jeg vil sette en ild på muren i Rabba, og den vil fortære palassene der med rop på en dag med kamp, med en storm på en dag med virvelvind.

But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:

Og deres konge skal gå i fangenskap, han og hans fyrster sammen, sier Herren.

And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.
