På den tiden skal Mikael reise seg, den store fyrsten som står for ditt folks barn. Det skal være en tid med nød, som det aldri har vært siden det ble en nasjon, helt til den tid. Men på den tiden skal ditt folk bli befridd, hver og en som er skrevet opp i boken.

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Mange av dem som sover i jordens støv skal våkne, noen til evig liv, og noen til skam og evig forakt.

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

De kloke skal skinne som himmelens lys, og de som leder mange til rettferdighet, som stjerner for evig og alltid.

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Men du, Daniel, lukk ordene og forsegl boken, frem til endetiden. Mange skal fare omkring, og kunnskap skal øke.

But thou, O niel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Da så jeg, Daniel, og se, det sto to andre, én på denne siden av elvebredden og én på den andre siden av elvebredden.

Then I niel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

En av dem sa til mannen kledd i lin som var over elvens vann: Hvor lenge vil det være til slutten på disse underne?

And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

Og jeg hørte mannen kledd i lin som var over elvens vann, når han løftet sin høyre hånd og sin venstre hånd mot himmelen og sverget ved ham som lever evig, at det skal være for en tid, tider og en halv tid. Når han har fullført å spre makten til det hellige folket, skal alle disse ting bli fullført.

And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

Jeg hørte, men jeg forsto ikke. Da sa jeg: Å, min Herre, hva skal enden på disse ting være?

And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

Han sa: Gå din vei, Daniel, for ordene er lukket og forseglet inntil endetiden.

And he said, Go thy way, niel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Mange skal bli renset, gjort hvite og prøvd, men de ugudelige skal handle ondt. Ingen av de ugudelige skal forstå, men de vise skal forstå.

Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Fra den tiden det daglige offeret blir fjernet, og den ødeleggende styggedom blir satt opp, skal det være ett tusen to hundre og nitti dager.

And from the time that the ily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety ys.

Salig er den som venter og når frem til ett tusen tre hundre og trettifem dager.

Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty ys.

Men gå du din vei til enden er kommet. Du skal hvile og stå opp til din arv ved slutten av dagene.

But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the ys.
