Og han sa til meg: Menneskesønn, reis deg opp, så vil jeg tale til deg.

And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.

Og ånden kom inn i meg da han talte til meg, og satte meg på føttene, så jeg hørte ham som talte til meg.

And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.

Og han sa til meg: Menneskesønn, jeg sender deg til Israels barn, til et opprørsk folk som har vært i opprør mot meg. De og deres fedre har syndet mot meg helt til denne dag.

And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.

For de er frekke barn og hardhjertede. Jeg sender deg til dem, og du skal si til dem: Så sier Herren Gud.

For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD.

Og enten de vil høre eller ikke, (for de er et opprørsk folk,) skal de likevel forstå at en profet har vært iblant dem.

And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

Og du, menneskesønn, frykt ikke for dem, vær ikke redd for deres ord, selv om det er som tornekratt og torner rundt deg, og du bor blant skorpioner: Frykt ikke for deres ord, og bli ikke skremt av deres blikk, selv om de er et opprørsk folk.

And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

Og du skal tale mine ord til dem, enten de hører eller ikke hører: for de er ytterst opprørske.

And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

Men du, menneskesønn, hør hva jeg sier til deg; vær ikke opprørsk som dette opprørske folket: åpne din munn, og spis det jeg gir deg.

But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

Og da jeg så, se, da var det en hånd som ble rakt fram til meg, og se, den holdt en bokrull.

And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;

Og han bredte den ut for meg, og den var skrevet på både inn- og utsiden: og der var skrevet klagesanger, jammer og ve.

And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
