Og Gud velsignet Noah og sønnene hans, og sa til dem: Vær fruktbare, og bli mange, og fyll jorden.

And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

Og frykten for dere og redselen for dere skal komme over hvert dyr på jorden og hver fugl i luften, over alt som beveger seg på jorden, og over alle fiskene i havet; i deres hånd er de gitt.

And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

Alt som beveger seg og lever skal være til mat for dere; på samme måte som jeg har gitt dere de grønne plantene, gir jeg dere alt dette.

Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

Men kjøtt med liv i seg, det vil si blodet i det, skal dere ikke spise.

But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

Og sannelig, deres eget blod vil jeg kreve; av hvert dyr vil jeg kreve det, og av mennesket; av hver enkelt vil jeg kreve livet for et annet menneske.

And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.

Den som utgyder menneskeblod, ved mennesker skal hans blod utgytes; for i Guds bilde har han skapt mennesket.

Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the ima of God made he man.

Og dere, vær fruktbare og bli mange; utbred dere rikelig på jorden, og bli mange der.

And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

Og Gud talte til Noah og til sønnene hans med ham, og sa,

And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,

Se, jeg oppretter min pakt med dere og med etterkommerne deres etter dere;

And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

og med hver levende skapning som er med dere, av fugler, av buskap og av alle dyr på jorden med dere; fra alle som gikk ut av arken, til hvert dyr på jorden.

And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

Og jeg vil opprette min pakt med dere: Aldri mer skal alt kjøtt utryddes ved vannet fra en flom; og aldri mer skal det være en flom som ødelegger jorden.

And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

Og Gud sa: Dette er tegnet på den pakten jeg lager mellom meg og dere, og hver levende skapning som er med dere, i all fremtid:

And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual nerations:

Jeg setter min bue i skyen, og den skal være et tegn på pakten mellom meg og jorden.

I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

Og det skal skje, når jeg bringer en sky over jorden, at buen skal ses i skyen.

And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

Og jeg vil huske min pakt, som er mellom meg og dere og hver levende skapning av alt kjød; og vannet skal aldri mer bli en flom for å ødelegge alt kjød.

And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Og buen skal være i skyen; og jeg vil se på den, for at jeg kan huske den evige pakten mellom Gud og hver levende skapning av alt kjød som er på jorden.

And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

Og Gud sa til Noah: Dette er tegnet på pakten, som jeg har opprettet mellom meg og alt kjød som er på jorden.

And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

Og sønnene av Noah som gikk ut av arken var Sem, Kam og Jafet; og Kam var far til Kanaan.

And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.

Dette er de tre sønnene til Noah, og fra dem ble hele jorden befolket.

These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.

Og Noah begynte å arbeide som bonde, og han plantet en vingård.

And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:

Og han drakk av vinen og ble full; og han lå uten klær inne i teltet sitt.

And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

Og Kam, faren til Kanaan, så sin fars nakenhet og fortalte det til sine to brødre utenfor.

And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

Da tok Sem og Jafet et klesplagg og la det på skuldrene sine, og de gikk baklengs inn og dekket over sin fars nakenhet. Og ansiktene deres var snudd bort, og de så ikke sin fars nakenhet.

And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.

Og Noah våknet opp fra rusen sin og visste hva hans yngste sønn hadde gjort mot ham.

And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younr son had done unto him.

Og han sa: Forbannet være Kanaan; han skal være en tjeneres tjener for sine brødre.

And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

Og han sa: Velsignet være Herren, Sems Gud, og Kanaan skal være hans tjener.

And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

Gud skal gi Jafet stor plass, og han skal bo i Sems telt; og Kanaan skal være hans tjener.

God shall enlar Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

Og Noah levde etter flommen i tre hundre og femti år.

And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.

Og alle Noahs dager var ni hundre og femti år; og han døde.

And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.
