Kom, alle dere som tørster, kom til vannene, og den som ikke har penger; kom, kjøp og spis. Ja, kom, kjøp vin og melk uten penger og uten kostnad.

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Hvorfor bruker dere penger på det som ikke er brød, og deres arbeid på det som ikke kan mette? Lytt nøye til meg, og spis det som er godt, og la deres sjel fryde seg i overflod.

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

Vend øret til meg, og kom til meg; hør, så skal deres sjel leve. Og jeg vil inngå en evig pakt med dere, den trofaste kjærlighet som jeg lovet David.

Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

Se, jeg har gitt ham som et vitne for folkene, en leder og kommandant for folkene.

Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

Se, du skal kalle et folk du ikke kjenner, og folk som ikke kjenner deg skal løpe til deg på grunn av Herren din Gud og Israels Hellige, for han har opphøyd deg.

Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

Søk Herren mens han kan finnes, kall på ham mens han er nær.

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

La den onde forlate sin vei, og den urettferdige sine tanker, og la ham vende tilbake til Herren, så vil han ha barmhjertighet med ham, og til vår Gud, for han vil rikelig tilgi.

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

For mine tanker er ikke deres tanker, og deres veier er ikke mine veier, sier Herren.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

For som himmelen er høyere enn jorden, slik er mine veier høyere enn deres veier, og mine tanker høyere enn deres tanker.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

For som regnet kommer ned, og snøen fra himmelen, og ikke vender tilbake, men vanner jorden og gjør den fruktbar og får den til å spire, slik at den gir såkorn til den som sår og brød til den som spiser,

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

så skal mitt ord være som går ut av min munn. Det skal ikke vende tilbake til meg tomt, men det skal gjøre det jeg vil, og ha fremgang med det jeg har sendt det til.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

For dere skal dra ut med glede og bli ledet fram med fred; fjellene og åsene skal bryte ut i sang foran dere, og alle trærne på marken skal klappe i hendene.

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

I stedet for tornene skal sypressen vokse opp, og i stedet for tornebusken skal myrten vokse opp. Dette skal bli et navn for Herren, et evig tegn som ikke skal bli utslettet.

Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
