Etter dette viste Jesus seg igjen for disiplene ved Tiberias-sjøen. Slik viste han seg.

After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.

Sammen var Simon Peter, Tomas som ble kalt Didymus, Natanael fra Kana i Galilea, Sebedeus' sønner og to andre av disiplene hans.

There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.

Simon Peter sier til dem: "Jeg går for å fiske." De sier til ham: "Vi blir med deg." De dro ut og gikk straks ombord i en båt, men den natten fanget de ingenting.

Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

Da morgenen kom, stod Jesus på stranden, men disiplene visste ikke at det var Jesus.

But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.

Jesus sier til dem: "Barn, har dere noe å spise?" De svarte ham: "Nei."

Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.

Og han sa til dem: "Kast garnet på høyre side av båten, så skal dere få fangst." De kastet det ut, og nå klarte de ikke å dra det inn på grunn av mengden med fisk.

And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

Da sa den disippel som Jesus elsket til Peter: "Det er Herren." Da Simon Peter hørte at det var Herren, bandt han på seg kappen (for han hadde ikke noe på seg) og kastet seg i sjøen.

Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.

De andre disiplene kom etter i den lille båten (for de var ikke langt fra land, bare omkring to hundre alen), og de dro med seg garnet fullt av fisk.

And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.

Da de kom i land, så de en kullild som var lagt, med fisk oppå og brød.

As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.

Jesus sa til dem: "Kom med noen av de fiskene dere nettopp har fanget."

Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.

Simon Peter gikk opp og dro garnet på land, fullt av store fisker, hundre og femtititre. Og enda det var så mange, var ikke garnet ødelagt.

Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.

Jesus sier til dem: "Kom og spis." Og ingen av disiplene våget å spørre ham: "Hvem er du?" for de visste at det var Herren.

Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

Jesus kom og tok brødet og ga dem, og også fisken.

Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.

Dette var tredje gangen Jesus viste seg for disiplene etter at han var stått opp fra de døde.

This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.

Da de hadde spist, sa Jesus til Simon Peter: "Simon, sønn av Johannes, elsker du meg mer enn disse?" Han sier til ham: "Ja, Herre, du vet at jeg elsker deg." Han sier til ham: "Fø mine lam."

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

Han sier til ham for andre gang: "Simon, sønn av Johannes, elsker du meg?" Han sier til ham: "Ja, Herre, du vet at jeg elsker deg." Han sier til ham: "Vokt mine sauer."

He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Han sier til ham for tredje gang: "Simon, sønn av Johannes, elsker du meg?" Peter ble bedrøvet fordi han sa til ham for tredje gang: "Elsker du meg?" Og han sa til ham: "Herre, du vet alt; du vet at jeg elsker deg." Jesus sier til ham: "Fø mine sauer."

He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Sannelig, sannelig, jeg sier deg: Da du var ung, bandt du oppbeltet ditt om deg og gikk hvor du ville. Men når du blir gammel, skal du rekke ut hendene dine, og en annen skal binde deg og føre deg dit du ikke vil."

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.

Dette sa han for å indikere med hvilken død han skulle ære Gud. Da han hadde sagt dette, sa han til ham: "Følg meg."

This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

Peter vendte seg og så den disippelen som Jesus elsket, følge etter, han som hadde lent seg mot Jesu bryst under måltidet og sa: "Herre, hvem er det som forråder deg?"

Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

Peter, da han så ham, sier til Jesus: "Herre, hva skal det bli med denne mannen?"

Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?

Jesus sa til ham: "Om jeg vil at han skal bli til jeg kommer, hva angår det deg? Følg du meg!"

Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

Så spredte dette seg blant brødrene, at denne disippel ikke skulle dø. Men Jesus hadde ikke sagt til ham at han ikke skulle dø, men: "Om jeg vil at han skal bli til jeg kommer, hva angår det deg?"

Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?

Dette er den disippelen som vitner om disse ting, og som har skrevet disse tingene. Og vi vet at hans vitnesbyrd er sant.

This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.

Det er også mange andre ting som Jesus gjorde, som om de alle skulle bli skrevet ned, tror jeg at ikke engang verden selv kunne romme de bøker som da måtte bli skrevet. Amen.

And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
