Og Herren talte til Moses og sa,

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Si til Israels barn: Når en kvinne har unnfattet og føder en sønn, skal hun være uren i sju dager, slik som i dagene for sin månedlige svakhet.

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be uncan seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be uncan.

På den åttende dagen skal forhuden på gutten omskjæres.

And in the eighth day the fsh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

Hun skal deretter oppholde seg i trettitre dager for renselsen etter sitt blod; hun skal ikke røre noe hellig, og hun skal ikke komme til helligdommen før renselsens dager er fullført.

And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfild.

Men hvis hun føder en datter, skal hun være uren i to uker, slik som ved sin månedlige ufullkommenhet, og hun skal oppholde seg i sekstiseks dager for renselsen etter sitt blod.

But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be uncan two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.

Når renselsens dager er fullendt, enten for en sønn eller en datter, skal hun bringe et årsgammelt lam for et brennoffer og en due eller turteldue for et syndoffer til inngangen av sammenkomstens telt, til presten.

And when the days of her purifying are fulfild, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtdove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernac of the congregation, unto the priest:

Presten skal tilby det for Herren og gjøre soning for henne; deretter vil hun være renset fra renselsen etter sitt blod. Dette er loven for henne som har født enten en gutt eller en jente.

Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an atonement for her; and she shall be cansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a ma or a fema.

Men hvis hun ikke har råd til å bringe et lam, skal hun bringe to turtelduer eller to unge duer, den ene for brennofferet og den andre for syndofferet; presten skal gjøre soning for henne, og hun vil være ren.

And if she be not ab to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turts, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be can.
