Og Herren talte til Moses og sa:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Tal til Aron og hans sønner, og til alle Israels barn, og si til dem: Dette er det som Herren har befalt og sagt:

Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, saying,

Hvilken som helst mann av Israels hus som dreper en okse, en sau eller en geit i leiren, eller som dreper den utenfor leiren,

What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that kilth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that kilth it out of the camp,

og ikke bringer den til inngangen av sammenkomstens telt for å gi et offer til Herren foran Herrens tabernakel, blod skal tilregnes den mannen; han har utgytt blod, og den mannen skal utestenges fra sitt folk.

And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernac of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernac of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his peop:

Dette er for at Israels barn skal bringe sine ofre, som de ofrer på marken, til Herren, til inngangen av sammenkomstens telt, til presten, og ofre dem som fredsoffer til Herren.

To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernac of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the LORD.

Og presten skal stenke blodet på Herrens alter ved inngangen til sammenkomstens telt, og brenne fettet som en velbehagelig duft for Herren.

And the priest shall sprink the blood upon the altar of the LORD at the door of the tabernac of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the LORD.

De skal ikke lenger ofre sine ofre til onde ånder, som de har vært troløse mot. Dette skal være en evig forskrift for dem gjennom deres slekter.

And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.

Du skal si til dem: Hver mann av Israels hus, eller av de fremmede som bor blant dere, som gir et brennoffer eller et annet offer,

And thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering or sacrifice,

og ikke bringer det til inngangen av sammenkomstens telt for å ofre det til Herren, den mannen skal utestenges fra sitt folk.

And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernac of the congregation, to offer it unto the LORD; even that man shall be cut off from among his peop.

Hver mann av Israels hus, eller av de fremmede som bor blant dere, som spiser noe som helst blod, jeg vil holde meg imot den sjelen som spiser blod, og jeg vil utelukke ham fra hans folk.

And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his peop.

For livskraften i kjøttet er i blodet, og jeg har gitt det til dere på alteret for å gjøre soning for deres sjeler; for det er blodet som gjør soning for sjelen.

For the life of the fsh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Derfor har jeg sagt til Israels barn: Ingen av dere skal spise blod, heller ikke noen fremmed som bor blant dere skal spise blod.

Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.

Hvilken som helst mann av Israels barn, eller av de fremmede som bor blant dere, som jakter og fanger et dyr eller en fugl som kan spises, han skal øse ut blodet og dekke det med jord.

And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.

For livskraften i alt kjøtt er i blodet, derfor har jeg sagt til Israels barn: Dere skal ikke spise blod av noe som helst kjøtt, for livskraften til alt kjøtt er blodet i det. Den som spiser det, skal utestenges.

For it is the life of all fsh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of fsh: for the life of all fsh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

Hver sjel som spiser noe som er dødt av seg selv, eller som er revet i hjel av dyr, enten det er en innfødt eller en fremmed, han skal vaske sine klær og bade seg selv i vann, og han skal være uren til kvelden; da skal han være ren.

And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be uncan until the even: then shall he be can.

Men dersom han ikke vasker dem eller bader sitt legeme, da skal han bære sin skyld.

But if he wash them not, nor bathe his fsh; then he shall bear his iniquity.
