Dere som står i Herrens hus, i forgårdene til vår Guds hus,

Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,

Lov Herren, for Herren er god; syng lovsanger til hans navn, for det er godt.

Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.

For Herren har utvalgt Jakob for seg selv, og Israel som sin egen skatt.

For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.

For jeg vet at Herren er stor, og at vår Herre er større enn alle guder.

For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.

Hva enn Herren ønsket, det gjorde han i himmelen, og på jorden, i havene, og i alle dyp.

Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

Han lar damp stige opp fra jordens ender; han lager lyn for regnet; han bringer vinden fra sine forråd.

He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.

Han slo Egyptens førstefødte, både mennesker og dyr.

Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.

Han sendte tegn og under midt iblant deg, Egypt, mot Farao og alle hans tjenere.

Who sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.

Han slo store nasjoner og drepte mektige konger;

Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;

Sihon, Amorittenes konge, og Og, kongen av Basan, og alle Kanaans riker.

Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:

Og ga deres land som arv, som arv til Israel, sitt folk.

And gave their land for an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people.

Herre, ditt navn varer til evig tid, og ditt minne, Herre, gjennom alle generasjoner.

Thy name, O LORD, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.

For Herren vil dømme sitt folk, og han vil angre med tanke på sine tjenere.

For the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants.

Hedningenes avguder er sølv og gull, verkene av menneskehender.

The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

De har munn, men taler ikke; de har øyne, men ser ikke;

They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;

De har ører, men hører ikke; det er ingen pust i deres munn.

They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.

De som lager dem, blir lik dem; slik er alle som stoler på dem.

They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.

Velsign Herren, Levis hus; dere som frykter Herren, velsign Herren.

Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.

Velsignet være Herren fra Sion, han som bor i Jerusalem. Lovsyng Herren.

Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
