A alm of David. I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.

Jeg vil tilbe vendt mot ditt hellige tempel og prise ditt navn for din godhet og din sannhet, for du har opphøyet ditt ord over alt annet.

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Den dagen jeg ropte, svarte du meg, og styrket meg med kraft i min sjel.

In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

Alle jordens konger skal prise deg, Herre, når de hører ordene fra din munn.

All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth.

Ja, de skal synge om Herrens veier, for Herrens herlighet er stor.

Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.

Om Herren er høy, har han likevel respekt for de ydmyke, men de stolte kjenner han på avstand.

Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.

Selv om jeg vandrer midt i nød, vil du gi meg liv. Du vil rekke ut din hånd mot mine fienders vrede, din høyre hånd skal frelse meg.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

Herren vil fullføre det som angår meg. Din barmhjertighet, Herre, varer evig. Forlat ikke hendene verket av dine hender.

The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
