Du har gjort det lite ringere enn englene, og med herlighet og ære har du kronet det.

For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

Du har satt det til å herske over dine henders verk; alt har du lagt under dets føtter:

Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

Småfe og storfe, ja, og markens dyr;

All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;

Himmelens fugler og havets fisker, alt som ferdes på havets stier.

The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
