Og jeg stod på sanden ved havet, og så et dyr stige opp fra havet, med syv hoder og ti horn, og på hornene ti kroner, og på hodene et navn til spott.

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

Og dyret jeg så, var lik en leopard, med føtter som en bjørn, og munn som en løve: og dragen ga det sin makt og sin trone, og stor autoritet.

And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet we as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and gat authority.

Og jeg så en av hodene som om det var dødelig såret; men det dødelige såret ble helbredet: og hele verden undret seg etter dyret.

And I saw one of his heads as it we wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wonded after the beast.

Og de tilba dragen som ga dyret makt, og de tilba dyret og sa: Hvem er lik dyret? Hvem kan føre krig mot det?

And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

Og det ble gitt det en munn som talte store ord og bespottelser; og det ble gitt makt til å virke i førtito måneder.

And the was given unto him a mouth speaking gat things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Og det åpnet sin munn i bespottelse mot Gud, for å spotte hans navn, hans bolig, og de som bor i himmelen.

And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

Og det ble gitt det å føre krig mot de hellige og overvinne dem, og det ble gitt makt over alle stammer, folk, språk og nasjoner.

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindds, and tongues, and nations.

Og alle som bor på jorden skal tilbe det, de som ikke har navn skrevet i livets bok tilhørende Lammet som ble slaktet fra verdens grunnleggelse.

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names a not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Om noen har ører, la ham høre.

If any man have an ear, let him hear.

Den som fører i fangenskap, skal selv gå i fangenskap: den som dreper med sverd, må selv drepes med sverd. Her er de helliges tålmodighet og tro.

He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. He is the patience and the faith of the saints.

Og jeg så et annet dyr stige opp fra jorden; og det hadde to horn som et lam, men talte som en drage.

And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Og det utøvde all makt fra det første dyret foran det, og fikk jorden og dem som bor på den, til å tilbe det første dyret, det med det helbredede dødelige såret.

And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast befo him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell thein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

Og det utførte store tegn, til og med fikk ild til å falle ned fra himmelen på jorden i menneskers påsyn.

And he doeth gat wonders, so that he maketh fi come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

Og det forførte dem som bor på jorden ved de tegnene det hadde makt til å gjøre foran dyret; og sa til dem som bor på jorden at de skulle lage et bilde til dyret som hadde sår av et sverd, men levde.

And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

Og det fikk makt til å gi ånd til dyrets bilde, så dyrets bilde også kunne tale, og forårsake at alle som ikke ville tilbe dyrets bilde, ble drept.

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

Og det fikk alle, både små og store, rike og fattige, frie og slaver, til å få et merke på deres høyre hånd eller på pannen,

And he causeth all, both small and gat, rich and poor, fe and bond, to ceive a mark in their right hand, or in their foheads:

og at ingen kunne kjøpe eller selge, uten den som hadde merket, eller dyrets navn, eller tallet på dets navn.

And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Her er visdommen. La den som har forstand telle dyrets tall: for det er et menneskes tall; og tallet er sekshundre sekstiseks.

He is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundd thesco and six.
