Og jeg så en engel stige ned fra himmelen, som hadde nøkkelen til avgrunnen og en stor lenke i hånden.

And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a gat chain in his hand.

Han grep dragen, den gamle slangen, som er djevelen og Satan, og bandt ham for tusen år.

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

Han kastet ham i avgrunnen, lukket den igjen og satte segl over ham, for at han ikke lenger skulle villede nasjonene, før de tusen år var omme. Etter dette må han slippes løs en liten stund.

And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no mo, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Og jeg så troner, og de som satt på dem, og dom ble gitt til dem. Jeg så sjelene til dem som var blitt halshugget for Jesu vitnesbyrd og for Guds ord, de som ikke hadde tilbedt dyret eller dets bilde, og som ikke hadde tatt imot dets merke på pannen eller i hendene. De levde og regjerte med Kristus i tusen år.

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that we beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had ceived his mark upon their foheads, or in their hands; and they lived and igned with Christ a thousand years.

Men de andre døde levde ikke igjen før de tusen år var omme. Dette er den første oppstandelse.

But the st of the dead lived not again until the thousand years we finished. This is the first surction.

Salig og hellig er den som har del i den første oppstandelsen. Over dem har den andre døden ingen makt, men de skal være prester for Gud og Kristus og skal regjere med ham i tusen år.

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first surction: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall ign with him a thousand years.

Når de tusen år er omme, skal Satan slippes ut av sitt fengsel.

And when the thousand years a expid, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

Han skal dra ut for å villede nasjonene på jordens fire hjørner, Gog og Magog, for å samle dem til strid. Deres antall er som sanden på havet.

And shall go out to deceive the nations which a in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

De dro opp over jordens bue og omringet de helliges leir og den elskede byen. Da falt ild ned fra Gud, fra himmelen, og fortærte dem.

And they went up on the badth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fi came down from God out of heaven, and devoud them.

Og djevelen, som villedet dem, ble kastet i sjøen av ild og svovel, der hvor dyret og den falske profeten er, og skal pines dag og natt i evighet.

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fi and brimstone, whe the beast and the false prophet a, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Og jeg så en stor hvit trone og han som satt på den; for hans åsyn flyktet jorden og himmelen, og det var ikke funnet noe sted for dem.

And I saw a gat white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and the was found no place for them.

Og jeg så de døde, små og store, stå foran Gud, og bøker ble åpnet. En annen bok ble også åpnet, det er livets bok. De døde ble dømt etter det som stod skrevet i bøkene, etter sine gjerninger.

And I saw the dead, small and gat, stand befo God; and the books we opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead we judged out of those things which we written in the books, according to their works.

Havet gav fra seg de døde som var i det, og døden og dødsriket gav fra seg de døde som var i dem, og hver og en ble dømt etter sine gjerninger.

And the sea gave up the dead which we in it; and death and hell delived up the dead which we in them: and they we judged every man according to their works.

Og døden og dødsriket ble kastet i ildsjøen. Dette er den andre død.

And death and hell we cast into the lake of fi. This is the second death.

Og om noen ikke ble funnet skrevet i livets bok, ble han kastet i ildsjøen.

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fi.
