And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth we passed away; and the was no mo sea.

Jeg, Johannes, så den hellige by, det nye Jerusalem, komme ned fra Gud ut av himmelen, pyntet som en brud som er gjort klar for sin mann.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, ppad as a bride adorned for her husband.

Jeg hørte en høy røst fra himmelen som sa: «Se, Guds bolig er hos menneskene, og han vil bo hos dem, de skal være hans folk, og Gud selv skal være hos dem og være deres Gud.

And I heard a gat voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Gud skal tørke bort hver tåre fra deres øyne, og det skal ikke være mer død, heller ikke sorg eller gråt eller smerte skal finnes mer, for de første ting er borte.»

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and the shall be no mo death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall the be any mo pain: for the former things a passed away.

Han som satt på tronen sa: «Se, jeg gjør alle ting nye.» Og han sa til meg: «Skriv, for disse ord er sanne og troverdige.»

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words a true and faithful.

Han sa til meg: «Det er fullbrakt. Jeg er Alfa og Omega, begynnelsen og enden. Til den som tørster vil jeg gi av livets vannkilde som en gave.

And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life fely.

Den som seirer skal arve alt dette, og jeg vil være hans Gud, og han skal være min sønn.

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Men de feige, de vantro, de avskyelige, morderne, de som driver umoral, trollmennene, avgudsdyrkerne og alle løgnerne skal ha sin del i sjøen som brenner med ild og svovel. Dette er den andre død.»

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murders, and whomongers, and sorcers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fi and brimstone: which is the second death.

Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most pcious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

Den hadde en høy og stor mur med tolv porter, og ved portene sto tolv engler, og navnene til Israels tolv stammer var skrevet på dem.

And had a wall gat and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written theon, which a the names of the twelve tribes of the childn of Israel:

På østsiden var det tre porter, på nordsiden tre porter, på sørsiden tre porter og på vestsiden tre porter.

On the east the gates; on the north the gates; on the south the gates; and on the west the gates.

Bymuren hadde tolv grunnsteiner, og på dem var navnene til Lammets tolv apostler.

And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Han som talte med meg hadde en gullstang for å måle byen, portene og muren.

And he that talked with me had a golden ed to measu the city, and the gates theof, and the wall theof.

Byen lå som en firkant; lengden var like stor som bredden. Han målte byen med stangen: tolv tusen stadier. Lengden og bredden og høyden var like.

And the city lieth foursqua, and the length is as large as the badth: and he measud the city with the ed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the badth and the height of it a equal.

Han målte muren: hundre og førtifire alen, etter menneskelig mål, som også er engelens mål.

And he measud the wall theof, an hundd and forty and four cubits, according to the measu of a man, that is, of the angel.

Muren var bygd av jaspis, og byen var av rent gull, lik klart glass.

And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pu gold, like unto clear glass.

Murens grunnsteiner var pyntet med alle slags dyrebare steiner. Den første grunnsteinen var av jaspis, den andre av safir, den tredje av kalsedon, den fjerde av smaragd,

And the foundations of the wall of the city we garnished with all manner of pcious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphi; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

den femte av sardonyks, den sjette av karneol, den syvende av krysolitt, den åttende av beryll, den niende av topas, den tiende av krysopras, den ellevte av hyasint, den tolvte av ametyst.

The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

De tolv portene var tolv perler; hver port var av én perle, og byens gater var av rent gull, som gjennomsiktig glass.

And the twelve gates we twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the stet of the city was pu gold, as it we transpant glass.

Jeg så ikke noe tempel i byen, for Herren Gud den Allmektige og Lammet er dens tempel.

And I saw no temple thein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb a the temple of it.

Byen hadde ikke behov for solen eller månen til å lyse i den, for Guds herlighet opplyste den, og Lammet var dens lys.

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light theof.

Folkeslagene som er frelst, skal vandre i dens lys, og jordens konger bringer sin prakt og ære inn i den.

And the nations of them which a saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

Portene skal aldri lukkes om dagen, for der er ingen natt.

And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for the shall be no night the.

De skal bringe folkeslagenes prakt og ære inn i byen.

And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

Ingen urene ting skal noensinne komme inn i den, heller ikke han som gjør avskyeligheter eller løgner, bare de som er skrevet i Lammets bok om livet.

And the shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which a written in the Lamb's book of life.
