Og jeg snudde meg, og løftet blikket, og så, og se, det kom fire vogner ut fra mellom to fjell; og fjellene var fjell av bronse.

And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.

I den første vognen var røde hester; og i den andre vognen svarte hester;

In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;

Og i den tredje vognen hvite hester; og i den fjerde vognen spraglete og sterke hester.

And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.

Så svarte jeg og sa til engelen som talte med meg: Hva er dette, min herre?

Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?

Og engelen svarte og sa til meg: Dette er de fire himmelens ånder som går ut etter å ha stått for Herren over hele jorden.

And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

De svarte hestene der drar ut til nordlandet; og de hvite drar ut etter dem; og de spraglete drar ut mot sydlandet.

The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country.

Og de sterke dro ut, og ønsket å gå for å ferdes omkring på jorden: og han sa: Dra av sted, ferdes omkring på jorden. Så de dro omkring på jorden.

And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.

Så ropte han på meg, og talte til meg og sa: Se, de som går mot nordlandet har beroliget min ånd i nordlandet.

Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.

Og Herrens ord kom til meg, og sa:

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Ta imot dem som er kommet fra fangenskapet, nemlig Heldai, Tobija og Jedaia, som er kommet fra Babylon, og kom på samme dag, og gå inn i huset til Josjia, Sefanjas sønn;

Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah;

Ta deretter sølv og gull, og lag kroner, og sett dem på hodet til Josva, Josadaks sønn, ypperstepresten;

Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;

Og si til ham: Så sier Herren, hærskarenes Gud: Se mannen som heter «Skuddet»; og han skal vokse opp fra sitt sted, og han skal bygge Herrens tempel.

And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:

Ja, han skal bygge Herrens tempel; og han skal bære herligheten, og sitte og herske på sin trone; og han skal være prest på sin trone: og fredens råd skal være mellom dem begge.

Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

Og kronene skal være for Helem, Tobija, Jedaia, og Hen, Sefanjas sønn, som et minne i Herrens tempel.

And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the LORD.

Og de som er langt borte skal komme og bygge i Herrens tempel, og dere skal vite at Herren, hærskarenes Gud, har sendt meg til dere. Og dette skal skje hvis dere nøye lyder Herrens, deres Guds, røst.

And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.
