Verse 40

And king{H4428} Arad{H6166} the Canaanite{H3669}, which dwelt{H3427}{(H8802)} in the south{H5045} in the land{H776} of Canaan{H3667}, heard{H8085}{(H8799)} of the coming{H935}{(H8800)} of the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}.

And Moses{H4872} prayed{H6419}{(H8691)} for the people{H5971}. 8 And the LORD{H3068} said{H559}{(H8799)} unto Moses{H4872}, Make{H6213}{(H8798)} thee a fiery serpent{H8314}, and set{H7760}{(H8798)} it upon a pole{H5251}: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten{H5391}{(H8803)}, when he looketh{H7200}{(H8804)} upon it, shall live{H2425}{(H8804)}. 9 And Moses{H4872} made{H6213}{(H8799)} a serpent{H5175} of brass{H5178}, and put{H7760}{(H8799)} it upon a pole{H5251}, and it came to pass, that if a serpent{H5175} had bitten{H5391}{(H8804)} any man{H376}, when he beheld{H5027}{(H8689)} the serpent{H5175} of brass{H5178}, he lived{H2425}{(H8804)}.
