And Jesus answered and spoke to them again in parables, saying,

But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his business:

And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.

But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together.

Then one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him, and saying,

Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.

This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.

Saying, What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he? They said to him, The Son of David.

The LORD said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool?

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

If David then calls him Lord, how is he his son?

And no one was able to answer him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask him any more questions.

And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
