Verse 4

The one who says“I have come to know God” and yet does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in such a person.

1 John 1:6 : 6 If we say we have fellowship with him and yet keep on walking in the darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth.
1 John 1:8 : 8 If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
Jas 2:14-16 : 14 Faith and Works Together What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can this kind of faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacks daily food, 16 and one of you says to them,“Go in peace, keep warm and eat well,” but you do not give them what the body needs, what good is it?
Titus 1:16 : 16 They profess to know God but with their deeds they deny him, since they are detestable, disobedient, and unfit for any good deed.
1 John 2:9 : 9 The one who says he is in the light but still hates his fellow Christian is still in the darkness.
1 John 4:20 : 20 If anyone says“I love God” and yet hates his fellow Christian, he is a liar, because the one who does not love his fellow Christian whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
Hos 8:2-3 : 2 Israel cries out to me,“My God, we acknowledge you!” 3 But Israel has rejected what is morally good; so an enemy will pursue him.
1 John 1:10 : 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar and his word is not in us.
