Verse 21

If a decision is not made, when my master the king is buried with his ancestors, my son Solomon and I will be considered state criminals.”

Deut 31:16 : 16 Then the LORD said to Moses,“You are about to die, and then these people will begin to prostitute themselves with the foreign gods of the land into which they are going. They will reject me and break my covenant that I have made with them.
1 Kgs 2:10 : 10 Then David passed away and was buried in the City of David.
1 Kgs 2:15 : 15 He said,“You know that the kingdom was mine and all Israel considered me king. But then the kingdom was given to my brother, for the LORD decided it should be his.
1 Kgs 2:22-24 : 22 King Solomon answered his mother,“Why just request Abishag the Shunammite for him? Since he is my older brother, you should also request the kingdom for him, for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab son of Zeruiah!” 23 King Solomon then swore an oath by the LORD,“May God judge me severely, if Adonijah does not pay for this request with his life! 24 Now, as certainly as the LORD lives(he who made me secure, allowed me to sit on my father David’s throne, and established a dynasty for me as he promised), Adonijah will be executed today!”
2 Sam 7:12 : 12 When the time comes for you to die, I will raise up your descendant, one of your own sons, to succeed you, and I will establish his kingdom.
Gen 15:15 : 15 But as for you, you will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age.
