Verse 5

But if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for the church of God?

1 Sam 3:13 : 13 You should tell him that I am about to judge his house forever because of the sin that he knew about. For his sons were cursing God, and he did not rebuke them.
1 Tim 3:15 : 15 in case I am delayed, to let you know how people ought to conduct themselves in the household of God, because it is the church of the living God, the support and bulwark of the truth.
1 Sam 2:29-30 : 29 Why are you scorning my sacrifice and my offering that I commanded for my dwelling place? You have honored your sons more than you have me by having made yourselves fat from the best parts of all the offerings of my people Israel.’ 30 Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, says,‘I really did say that your house and your ancestor’s house would serve me forever.’ But now the LORD says,‘May it never be! For I will honor those who honor me, but those who despise me will be cursed!
Acts 20:28 : 28 Watch out for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.
1 Cor 10:32 : 32 Do not give offense to Jews or Greeks or to the church of God,
Eph 1:22 : 22 And God put all things under Christ’s feet, and gave him to the church as head over all things.
Eph 5:24 : 24 But as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Eph 5:32 : 32 This mystery is great– but I am actually speaking with reference to Christ and the church.
