Verse 2

Asa took all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the LORD’s temple and of the royal palace and sent it to King Ben Hadad of Syria, ruler in Damascus, along with this message:

• 2 Kgs 12:18 : 18 King Jehoash of Judah collected all the sacred items that his ancestors Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, and Ahaziah, kings of Judah, had consecrated, as well as his own sacred items and all the gold that could be found in the treasuries of the LORD’s temple and the royal palace. He sent it all to King Hazael of Syria, who then withdrew from Jerusalem.
• 2 Kgs 16:8 : 8 Then Ahaz took the silver and gold that were in the LORD’s temple and in the treasuries of the royal palace and sent it as tribute to the king of Assyria.
• 2 Kgs 18:15 : 15 Hezekiah gave him all the silver in the LORD’s temple and in the treasuries of the royal palace.
• 2 Chr 28:21 : 21 Ahaz gathered riches from the LORD’s temple, the royal palace, and the officials and gave them to the king of Assyria, but that did not help.
