Verse 8

During Jehoram’s reign Edom freed themselves from Judah’s control and set up their own king.

Gen 27:40 : 40 You will live by your sword but you will serve your brother. When you grow restless, you will tear off his yoke from your neck.”
1 Kgs 22:47 : 47 There was no king in Edom at this time; a governor ruled.
2 Kgs 3:9 : 9 So the kings of Israel, Judah, and Edom set out together. They wandered around on the road for seven days and finally ran out of water for the men and animals they had with them.
2 Kgs 8:20-22 : 20 During his reign Edom freed themselves from Judah’s control and set up their own king. 21 Joram crossed over to Zair with all his chariots. The Edomites, who had surrounded him, attacked at night and defeated him and his chariot officers. The Israelite army retreated to their homeland. 22 So Edom has remained free from Judah’s control to this very day. At that same time Libnah also rebelled.
2 Chr 20:22-23 : 22 When they began to shout and praise, the LORD suddenly attacked the Ammonites, Moabites, and men from Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. 23 The Ammonites and Moabites attacked the men from Mount Seir and annihilated them. When they had finished off the men of Seir, they attacked and destroyed one another.
2 Chr 21:10 : 10 So Edom has remained free from Judah’s control to this very day. At that same time Libnah also rebelled and freed themselves from Judah’s control because Jehoram rejected the LORD God of his ancestors.
