Verse 20

During his reign Edom freed themselves from Judah’s control and set up their own king.

1 Kgs 22:47 : 47 There was no king in Edom at this time; a governor ruled.
2 Kgs 3:9 : 9 So the kings of Israel, Judah, and Edom set out together. They wandered around on the road for seven days and finally ran out of water for the men and animals they had with them.
2 Kgs 3:27 : 27 So he took his firstborn son, who was to succeed him as king, and offered him up as a burnt sacrifice on the wall. There was an outburst of divine anger against Israel, so they broke off the attack and returned to their homeland.
2 Kgs 8:22 : 22 So Edom has remained free from Judah’s control to this very day. At that same time Libnah also rebelled.
2 Chr 21:8-9 : 8 During Jehoram’s reign Edom freed themselves from Judah’s control and set up their own king. 9 Jehoram crossed over with his officers and all his chariots. The Edomites, who had surrounded him, attacked at night and defeated him and his chariot officers. 10 So Edom has remained free from Judah’s control to this very day. At that same time Libnah also rebelled and freed themselves from Judah’s control because Jehoram rejected the LORD God of his ancestors.
Gen 27:40 : 40 You will live by your sword but you will serve your brother. When you grow restless, you will tear off his yoke from your neck.”
2 Sam 8:14 : 14 He placed garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites became David’s subjects. The LORD protected David wherever he campaigned.
