David’s Cabinet Joab son of Zeruiah was general in command of the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was secretary;

1 Kgs 4:3 : 3 Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, wrote down what happened. Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was in charge of the records.
1 Chr 11:6 : 6 David said,“Whoever attacks the Jebusites first will become commanding general!” So Joab son of Zeruiah attacked first and became commander.
2 Sam 19:13 : 13 Say to Amasa,‘Are you not my flesh and blood? God will punish me severely, if from this time on you are not the commander of my army in place of Joab!’”
2 Sam 20:23-24 : 23 Now Joab was the general in command of all the army of Israel. Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Kerethites and the Perethites. 24 Adoniram was supervisor of the work crews. Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was the secretary.
