Verse 16

Narrative Interlude Today the LORD your God is commanding you to keep these statutes and ordinances, something you must do with all your heart and soul.

Deut 6:1 : 1 Exhortation to Keep the Covenant Principles Now these are the commandments, statutes, and ordinances that the LORD your God instructed me to teach you so that you may carry them out in the land where you are headed
Deut 6:5 : 5 You must love the LORD your God with your whole mind, your whole being, and all your strength.

Deut 13:3-4 : 3 You must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer, for the LORD your God will be testing you to see if you love him with all your mind and being. 4 You must follow the LORD your God and revere only him; and you must observe his commandments, obey him, serve him, and remain loyal to him.
