Verse 3

‘Who among you survivors saw the former splendor of this temple? How does it look to you now? Isn’t it nothing by comparison?’”

Ezra 3:12 : 12 Many of the priests, the Levites, and the leaders– older people who had seen with their own eyes the former temple while it was still established– were weeping loudly, and many others raised their voice in a joyous shout.
Ezek 7:20 : 20 They rendered the beauty of his ornaments into pride, and with it they made their abominable images– their detestable idols. Therefore I will render it filthy to them.
Hag 2:9 : 9 “The future splendor of this temple will be greater than that of former times,” the LORD of Heaven’s Armies has declared.“And in this place I will give peace,” decrees the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.”
Zech 4:9-9 : 9 “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundations of this temple, and his hands will complete it.” Then you will know that the LORD of Heaven’s Armies has sent me to you. 10 For who dares make light of small beginnings? These seven eyes will joyfully look on the tin tablet in Zerubbabel’s hand.(These are the eyes of the LORD, which constantly range across the whole earth.)
Luke 21:5-6 : 5 The Signs of the End of the Age Now while some were speaking about the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and offerings, Jesus said, 6 “As for these things that you are gazing at, the days will come when not one stone will be left on another. All will be torn down!”
