Verse 17

For all of them, the morning is to them like deep darkness; they are friends with the terrors of darkness.

Job 3:5 : 5 Let darkness and the deepest shadow claim it; let a cloud settle on it; let whatever blackens the day terrify it!
Ps 73:18-19 : 18 Surely you put them in slippery places; you bring them down to ruin. 19 How desolate they become in a mere moment! Terrifying judgments make their demise complete!
Jer 2:26 : 26 Just as a thief has to suffer dishonor when he is caught, so the people of Israel will suffer dishonor for what they have done. So will their kings and officials, their priests and their prophets.
2 Cor 5:10-11 : 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be paid back according to what he has done while in the body, whether good or evil. 11 The Message of Reconciliation Therefore, because we know the fear of the Lord, we try to persuade people, but we are well known to God, and I hope we are well known to your consciences too.
Rev 6:16-17 : 16 They said to the mountains and to the rocks,“Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who is seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to withstand it?”
