Verse 23

Jesus replied,“If I have said something wrong, confirm what is wrong. But if I spoke correctly, why strike me?”

Matt 5:39 : 39 But I say to you, do not resist the evildoer. But whoever strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other to him as well.
Acts 23:2-5 : 2 At that the high priest Ananias ordered those standing near Paul to strike him on the mouth. 3 Then Paul said to him,“God is going to strike you, you whitewashed wall! Do you sit there judging me according to the law, and in violation of the law you order me to be struck?” 4 Those standing near him said,“Do you dare insult God’s high priest?” 5 Paul replied,“I did not realize, brothers, that he was the high priest, for it is written,‘You must not speak evil about a ruler of your people.’”
2 Cor 10:1 : 1 Paul’s Authority from the Lord Now I, Paul, appeal to you personally by the meekness and gentleness of Christ(I who am meek when present among you, but am full of courage toward you when away!)–
1 Pet 2:20-23 : 20 For what credit is it if you sin and are mistreated and endure it? But if you do good and suffer and so endure, this finds favor with God. 21 For to this you were called, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving an example for you to follow in his steps. 22 He committed no sin nor was deceit found in his mouth. 23 When he was maligned, he did not answer back; when he suffered, he threatened no retaliation, but committed himself to God who judges justly.
