You study the scriptures thoroughly because you think in them you possess eternal life, and it is these same scriptures that testify about me,

Deut 17:18-19 : 18 When he sits on his royal throne he must make a copy of this law on a scroll given to him by the Levitical priests. 19 It must be with him constantly and he must read it as long as he lives, so that he may learn to revere the LORD his God and observe all the words of this law and these statutes and carry them out.

How do you understand it?” 27 The expert answered,“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.” 28 Jesus said to him,“You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.” 29 But the expert, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus,“And who is my neighbor?”
Isa 8:20 : 20 Then you must recall the LORD’s instructions and the prophetic testimony of what would happen. Certainly they say such things because their minds are spiritually darkened.
