Verse 55

When the Israelites saw that Abimelech was dead, they went home.

2 Sam 18:16 : 16 Then Joab blew the trumpet and the army turned back from chasing Israel, for Joab had called for the army to halt.
2 Sam 20:21-22 : 21 That’s not the way things are. There is a man from the hill country of Ephraim named Sheba son of Bicri. He has rebelled against King David. Give me just this one man, and I will leave the city.” The woman said to Joab,“This very minute his head will be thrown over the wall to you!” 22 Then the woman went to all the people with her wise advice and they cut off Sheba’s head and threw it out to Joab. Joab blew the trumpet, and his men dispersed from the city, each going to his own home. Joab returned to the king in Jerusalem.
1 Kgs 22:35-36 : 35 While the battle raged throughout the day, the king stood propped up in his chariot opposite the Syrians. He died in the evening; the blood from the wound ran down into the bottom of the chariot. 36 As the sun was setting, a cry went through the camp,“Each one should return to his city and to his homeland.”
Prov 22:10 : 10 Drive out the scorner and contention will leave; strife and insults will cease.
