Verse 12

Then the disciples came to him and said,“Do you know that when the Pharisees heard this saying they were offended?”

1 Kgs 22:13-14 : 13 Now the messenger who went to summon Micaiah said to him,“Look, the prophets are in complete agreement that the king will succeed. Your words must agree with theirs; you must predict success.” 14 But Micaiah said,“As certainly as the LORD lives, I will say what the LORD tells me to say.”
Matt 17:27 : 27 But so that we don’t offend them, go to the lake and throw out a hook. Take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth, you will find a four drachma coin. Take that and give it to them for me and you.”
1 Cor 10:32-33 : 32 Do not give offense to Jews or Greeks or to the church of God, 33 just as I also try to please everyone in all things. I do not seek my own benefit, but the benefit of many, so that they may be saved.
2 Cor 6:3 : 3 We do not give anyone an occasion for taking an offense in anything, so that no fault may be found with our ministry.
Gal 2:5 : 5 But we did not surrender to them even for a moment, in order that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.
Jas 3:17 : 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and not hypocritical.
