Verse 30

A large herd of pigs was feeding some distance from them.

Lev 11:7 : 7 The pig is unclean to you because its hoof is divided(the hoof is completely split in two), even though it does not chew the cud.
Deut 14:8 : 8 Also the pig is ritually impure to you; though it has divided hooves, it does not chew the cud. You may not eat their meat or even touch their remains.
Isa 65:3-4 : 3 These people continually and blatantly offend me as they sacrifice in their sacred orchards and burn incense on brick altars. 4 They sit among the tombs and keep watch all night long. They eat pork, and broth from unclean sacrificial meat is in their pans.
Isa 66:3 : 3 The one who slaughters a bull also strikes down a man; the one who sacrifices a lamb also breaks a dog’s neck; the one who presents an offering includes pig’s blood with it; the one who offers incense also praises an idol. They have decided to behave this way; they enjoy these disgusting practices.
Mark 5:11 : 11 There on the hillside, a great herd of pigs was feeding.
Luke 8:32 : 32 Now a large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, and the demonic spirits begged Jesus to let them go into them. He gave them permission.
Luke 15:15-16 : 15 So he went and worked for one of the citizens of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He was longing to eat the carob pods the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
