Verse 31

Yet if he is caught he must repay seven times over, he might even have to give all the wealth of his house.

Exod 22:1-4 : 1 Laws about Property(21:37)“If a man steals an ox or a sheep and kills it or sells it, he must pay back five head of cattle for the ox, and four sheep for the one sheep. 2 “If a thief is caught breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there will be no blood guilt for him. 3 If the sun has risen on him, then there is blood guilt for him. A thief must surely make full restitution; if he has nothing, then he will be sold for his theft. 4 If the stolen item should in fact be found alive in his possession, whether it be an ox or a donkey or a sheep, he must pay back double.
2 Sam 12:6 : 6 Because he committed this cold-hearted crime, he must pay for the lamb four times over!”
Job 20:18 : 18 He gives back the ill-gotten gain without assimilating it; he will not enjoy the wealth from his commerce.

Luke 19:8 : 8 But Zacchaeus stopped and said to the Lord,“Look, Lord, half of my possessions I now give to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone of anything, I am paying back four times as much!”
