A psalm, a song for the dedication of the house, of David.
I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
I will exalt You, O LORD, for You drew me up and did not let my enemies rejoice over me.
O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
O LORD, my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.
O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
O LORD, You brought my soul up from Sheol; You preserved me alive so that I would not go down to the pit.
Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
Sing praises to the LORD, you His faithful ones, and give thanks to His holy name.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.
As for me, I said in my prosperity, 'I will never be shaken.'
LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.
O LORD, by Your favor, You made my mountain stand strong; but when You hid Your face, I was terrified.
I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.
To You, O LORD, I call; to the Lord I plead for mercy:
What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?
What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.
Hear me, O LORD, and be merciful to me; O LORD, be my helper.
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
You have turned my mourning into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.
so that my glory may sing Your praise and not be silent. O LORD, my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
