Verse 5

Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.

Hos 13:16 : 16 Samaria will bear her guilt; for she has rebelled against her God. They will fall by the sword. Their infants will be dashed in pieces, and their pregnant women will be ripped open."
2 Kgs 18:9 : 9 It happened in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it.
2 Kgs 25:1-3 : 1 It happened in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it around it. 2 So the city was besieged to the eleventh year of king Zedekiah. 3 On the ninth day of the [fourth] month the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
