Verse 8

Many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbor, Why has Yahweh done thus to this great city?

What does the heat of this great anger mean?" 25 Then men shall say, "Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, 26 and went and served other gods, and worshiped them, gods that they didn't know, and that he had not given to them:
• Lam 4:12 : 12 The kings of the earth didn't believe, neither all the inhabitants of the world, That the adversary and the enemy would enter into the gates of Jerusalem.
• Dan 9:7 : 7 Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but to us confusion of face, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, who are near, and who are far off, through all the countries where you have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against you.
