Verse 13

I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

But there was no voice, nor any who answered. They leaped about the altar which was made. 27 It happened at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, "Cry aloud; for he is a god. Either he is musing, or he has gone aside, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he sleeps and must be awakened." 28 They cried aloud, and cut themselves in their way with knives and lances, until the blood gushed out on them.
• 1 Kgs 18:40 : 40 Elijah said to them, "Seize the prophets of Baal! Don't let one of them escape!" They seized them. Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and killed them there.
• 2 Chr 33:9 : 9 Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did evil more than did the nations whom Yahweh destroyed before the children of Israel.
