Verse 13

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

John 10:11 : 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
Eph 5:2 : 2 Walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
John 10:15 : 15 even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.
Rom 5:6-8 : 6 For while we were yet weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will hardly die for a righteous man. Yet perhaps for a righteous person someone would even dare to die. 8 But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
1 John 4:7-9 : 7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God. 8 He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love. 9 By this God's love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.
