Verse 26

He said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read it?"

Isa 8:20 : 20 Turn to the law and to the testimony! If they don't speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.
Rom 3:19 : 19 Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.
Rom 4:14-16 : 14 For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void, and the promise is made of no effect. 15 For the law works wrath, for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience. 16 For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace, to the end that the promise may be sure to all the seed, not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.
Rom 10:5 : 5 For Moses writes about the righteousness of the law, "The one who does them will live by them."
Gal 3:21-22 : 21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not!
