Verse 18

Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest has delivered me a book. Shaphan read therein before the king.

Deut 17:19 : 19 and it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear Yahweh his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them;
Josh 1:8 : 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate thereon day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.
Ps 119:46 : 46 I will also speak of your statutes before kings, And will not be disappointed.
Ps 119:97-99 : 97 How love I your law! It is my meditation all day. 98 Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, For your commandments are always with me. 99 I have more understanding than all my teachers, For your testimonies are my meditation.
Jer 36:20-21 : 20 They went in to the king into the court; but they had laid up the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe; and they told all the words in the ears of the king. 21 So the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll; and he took it out of the chamber of Elishama the scribe. Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes who stood beside the king.
