Verse 1

Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Prov 20:9 : 9 Who can say, "I have made my heart pure. I am clean and without sin?"
Matt 5:48 : 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
Ezek 18:30-32 : 30 Therefore I will judge you, house of Israel, everyone according to his ways, says the Lord Yahweh.
