Verse 18

so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.

Matt 6:4 : 4 so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Matt 6:6 : 6 But you, when you pray, enter into your inner chamber, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Rom 2:6 : 6 who "will pay back to everyone according to their works:"
2 Cor 5:9 : 9 Therefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well pleasing to him.
